Mr. Oppenheimer has 30 years of extensive “hands on” work experience in varied fields such as Production Engineering, Medical, Technology, Retail, Finance, Franchising and General Management.

He started his professional career at Baxter International, Inc. in the manufacturing area and later moved into the Strategic Planning group responsible for M&A and new products introduction in Latin America and Asia. In 1985, he joined McDonald’s Corporation as Treasurer for Latin America.

During his tenure he innovated in the Treasure/Financial field using creative financial engineering as a strategic tool to drive growth. Promoted to Director of Finance and Licensing for Latin America, he added to his responsibilities the opening and development of new markets.

In 1991, he become Joint Venture Partner with McDonald’s in Uruguay; successfully introducing the Fast Food Concept and the McDonald’s Brand. In less than 10 years, McDonald’s Uruguay became the highest density market (restaurant/inhabitants) in South America with 32 restaurants and one of the largest private employers in the country.

In addition, he held regional responsibilities as chairman of the Technology Board and Member of the Advisory Board for Latin America. In early 2002 he successfully sold the business, at the prime of its development. Other activities include Chairmanship of Junior Achievement - Uruguay Chapter, Fulbright Foundation Board Member, Endeavor Venture Corps, American Chamber of Commerce Board Member, and Advisor to the Business Accelerator of the University of the Republic. Presently, he has a business consultancy.

Mr. Oppenheimer is an Industrial and Mechanical Engineer from Purdue University and holds an MBA in International Finance from Krannert School of Business.
